This may be of interest. I acquired it many years ago...

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

As far as I am aware, it was Abbey Road - probably studio 2 - but I don't know that for sure. I know they used CTS in Wembley now and again, but generally it was Abbey Road at this time.

If it was Abbey Road it will have been Studio 3. They used it all the time from the MWF period

Always interesting to see track sheets and then to listen to the track again.

Bruce does the lead vocal but does not play guitar (so that must be Hank with distorted guitar on the left. Maybe a small correction to Ivo's listing on Malcolm Campbell's site?).

Alan Jones' bass is double-tracked with itself. His second track will presumably have been through a distortion pedal (maybe even the same one that Hank used since the effect is very similar when Hank plays the lower strings) to give that fuzzed-up bass sound.

The synth bass doesn't seem to have a line that is independent of the bass guitar so presumably it triple-tracks the bass guitar to add extra harmonics.

Would the Syndrums have been played by Brian or Adrian?

I'm guessing it would have been Brian playing the syndrum parts. Actually, I'm fairly convinced it would have been Brian. Brian used syndrums as part of his kit set up on tour in the late seventies and early eighties.
And Chris, forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't you have a piece in Shadsfax 10 years ago or so about Love De Luxe?
I'm with you on this one, Chris, I think Love De Luxe is a great little track!

Yes, I did indeed write a piece about Love DeLuxe for Shadsfax - in fact it was the man himself, Hoffers, who kindly sent me the studio information sheet.

I can't imagine for one moment that Adrian Lee would have played the syndrums! Hank plays the synth parts on the Roland guitar synth when they performed this song live, but presumably just to make things easier on stage.
