Jet Black (both versions) was/were played on the Antoria guitar.

That much had always been clear because of the recording date(s), but it was also confirmed by Hank in a BBC Radio 1 interview programme in 1980 or 1981: "It Was In Tune When I Bought It".

Thanks, Jim.

Several of my friends started with Guyatones (which is what Antorias were called here), not loving them much. It will be interesting to pay one now.

The headstocks on those Antorias look longer than a twelve string.

That was normal in any location where Kluson tuners weren't available. Burns headstocks, as well as Watkins', were also extra long.

Even the Klusons had to be clipped shorter in order to get than to fit a Fender.

Talking about all Hank's guitars, he got a guitar from a newspaper
in Scotland on their last tour, is he using it, or is it 'put' on the wall?

The guitar was from the Scotsman news paper, it was donated to a charity auction last year sometime and sold for about 3000 pounds I think

I think all of this needs putting into perspective - even at the risk of offending .

It does't matter one iota which guitar, amp or echo you have, if you can't do it justice, the thing won't magically play itself and sound like HBM and there is footage from the archives evidence to support this, described as follows.

On one of the Cliff & The Shadows TV specials, Apache is being played, albeit terribly with the player hidden in the shadows (literally) and when the player is illuminated it turns out to be Cliff with Hank's Strat through the Meazzi and Vox amp.
A very annoyed Hank appears by Cliff's side and Cliff says 'Don't Be Mad At Me - cue song . . . . .

So there you go, it's proof that if you are not very good, the real gear will never substitute talent.
The only way is practice, practice and more practice - only then will one be able to achieve the sound but the good news is you will be able to get it out of any reasonable kit.

Dave you are right. But what happened here from 1:36 on - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzz64XMTcdA- no master falls from the sky. We are all human beings. Hank probably had to practice
a lot at this time in order to achieve a certain standard.

Here is Cliff playing the INTRO/ OUTRO - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY72EGpomt8 - he also has increased on the guitar as you and me and all who plays an instrument.
