Very pleased to see that EMI have finally got around to re-releasing String of Hits (albeit as a 'two for one' compile). A shame they couldn't have added the bonus tracks that would have made it more complete. Oh well, better than nothing I suppose...

EMI might just as well have reissued "String" with Black Is Black as a bonus track.

It was the only "new" track on "Another String...".

They should have also added the single edit of Riders in the Sky, the original studio full-length version of Don't Cry For Me Argentina, Rusk and the 1979 version of God Only Knows. Still, what can we expect from EMI? Might be worth buying IF it sounds better than the earlier MFP release...

I have the first EMI UK CD issue from 1987, the sound of which is alright, but the sound for the following tracks is better on the 2004 UK 4 CD box "Complete Singles A's & B's":
- Theme From The Deer Hunter (Cavatina)
- Heart Of Glass
- Don't Cry For Me Argentina
- Song For Duke
- Rodrigo's Guitar Concerto De Aranjuez.
