Sounds like Lakeside are worried about their profits, so they set up a Shadows event for themselves, rather than for the fans, which is what they're trying to dress it up as.

Lakeside, like any other venue, is fully entitled to run an entertainment fan weekend if they wish. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I'd have thought that its success would crucially depend on how it is run - and particularly on who is running it.

Jim,
I agree anyone can put on any event they wish, but do you not see a touch of cynicism in the fact that they have done this after the Kingswinford event is announced when they could have offered this months ago as an original idea.
I do believe that as Shadowsfix is now up and running every effort must be made by the Shadows community to support it.

Not funny Derek.
A lot of effort has been put into the organising of this event and it would serve the "fans" of Shadows music well to support it, however if people feel they do not wish to attend that is the choice anyone has the right to make. I do get the impression that those who live in the south/southeast of the country are not so keen to travel to the Midlands but remember people have travelled from all over this glorious land to Lakeside for a number of years, so now it is located elsewhere it would do no harm for others to enjoy a drive through our beautiful countryside and enjoy a central England welcome.

I agree with Ron. why shouldn't Lakeside or any night club or any Individual put an event on? It is the music that we all like and a day or weekend does it really make any differance who is behind it? The name of the person has been lacking in coming forward who has arranged shadowfix someone has taken the trouble so why be shy about it? As for the point of "outrage" I feel sure that Lakeside could well cope with the lack of money from any event like Shadowmania which is no more sadly, and why would they do a weekend to "ruin" Shadowfix? I don't understand what all the fuss is about. After all there are more than one Shadows club and no one moans about that, and I know that they are miles apart.
