I don't know why the Lakeside issue is even being discussed. Lakeside was Bruce's event, it was he who filled the venue and I doubt very much if anyone else could fill it. Remember Pat Terret brought Nokie Edwards some years back, and a couple of hundred folks turned up, so forget Lakeside and give this initiative your full support.

I tend to agree with Alan on the points he has raised on the issue.
Having attended the Nokie Edwards event at Lakeside , the attendance was
very low for various reasons , but the main one seems to stem from the fact that
it was very soon after that years Shadowmania, hence the lack of overseas attendees
and the fact that Nokie was playing dates in Holland the week after.
Quite a number of people did not attend that weekend due to the atrocious stormy
weather that caused traffic disruptions in the area . The flight into Heathrow also had
a few turbulent moments!!!
It was a shame as those who were there had an excellent show presented to them!!!

Alan why are you so annoyed about Lakeside? Yes Bruce did run it and I have not read anything about the Friday night crew filling it at all anywhere. We all know or rather don't how much hard work Bruce put in to make it what it was, a big success. It was why everyone at the last Shadowmania we was asked and did sign to see if Bruce would do it one more time. Nothing to do with the Friday night crew at all. If Hank did something at Lakeside I'm sure that would be full up. Lakeside I would think made their money from the drinks and food.
The Shads fans could now have two things to go to instead of one, we should not knock that at all

Vic or Jackie (I don't know who is writing the post), I'm not annoyed about Lakeside as you seem to imply. What did annoy me, was the fact that after a group of people who took it upon themselves to organise such an event for the fans, have been upstaged by Lakeside (or others) some three weeks after ShadowsFix was announced. I'm supporting ShadowsFix, got my tickets and hotel booked and we should all be supporting this venture. If Lakeside want to do something next year, then they can go for it, I have no issue with that at all, but if ShadowsFix is a success (and I hope it is), I'll drive 5 hours down to the Midlands again to support it next year.

I won't be replying any further on anything to do with Lakeside, this thread was started to promote ShadowsFix and it should remain so.

In view of this, and a possible Lakeside show as well, I've decided that the event which was in the early stages of planning in Kent will no longer go ahead this year, thanks to all those who contacted me offering support.

Good luck to those involved, sadly the dates didn't work for me otherwise I would have loved to have come.
