Flubbed Note in Man of Mystery

Hi ,, i always thought , and still do ,, that there is a "flubbed"note in Kon Tiki at 1:05.

Am i right ,, i have listened to the original recording over and over and i can hear the wrong note.
Its in the double stops section .

Sounds like as if hank was a little shaky at 1:46 ! I hear a note but we miss the clean intonation.
It may be that the digital technology reveals this errors mor than the vinyl recordings.

This is definitely the 'fluff' I've always associated with the track, coinciding with Bruce's augmented chord, and one which was as apparent to me on the original 1960 single as with all the digitally remastered CD reissues through the decades since.

I heard that when Blue Star was being recorded, the very young Bruce didn't know what a 'diminished' chord was and had to be shown. Any truth in that?

It could well be the case, although Blue Star was recorded some four months after Man Of Mystery, and Norrie would have been the ideal man to educate him in that respect.

I believe that is true - Bruce in conversation with Norrie Paramor. Of course - Bruce was a master of the rhythm accompaniment & a very fast learner. He may well have been playing diminished chords without realising it!

I think we should now stop doing any Shadowsrecording to investigate on fluffnotes.
These musicians at that time only had the opportunity to learn by doing and copying.
They had no teachers (internet / youtube) as today. In my eyes they were real pioneers.
I appreciate that.
No master falls from the sky. In addition, they were whipped by the industry in a role.
They were at that time not as good technically to play this role to 100% !

But HATS OFF to all musicians ( 60`s ) in the world who could make their living through
their music.
And they have left us a musical heritage. Otherwise we would have already forgotten the
Shadows.

Unlikely, since there is a diminished chord in Chinchilla. perhaps it was Chinchilla Bruce was thinking back to.
