The Boys & Rhythm & Greens EP

Postby Fenderman » 26 Apr 2013, 23:26

I've got both above EP's in mono on vinyl but i'm looking to find them in stereo on CD i'm looking in particular for 'sweet dreams', 'les girls' and from Rhythm & Greens 'Main Theme'. I can't find them on CD, anyone know which CD's have these tracks either in mono or (preferably stereo).

Yes, but Les Girls and The Girls are two separate pieces of music! ;)

As I read it, the original post referred to 'Les Girls'.

Looks like Amazon has "The Early Years" as an mp3 download in addition to the 6-CD box set. And, actually, you can purchase individual tracks, which might be the best value.

Donna

Fair doooz, it did, and you're right. But it referred to it as being from the EP "The Boys", which would make it the other track, The Girls. Those two tunes, released so closely upon one another, have often been confused in articles and postings.

Les Girls was also released on a UK EP:" Foot Tapping With The Shadows" (1963), as well as being on the "Summer Holiday" soundtrack LP and CD versions of that.

Wow... £119 for a used (though apparently perfect) copy from a German Amazon-associated seller. I remember the original price (1991) as £44 over the counter at a well-known Kent record retailer. Even so, if I needed a copy, I'd pay the asking price.

The mp3 download service sounds good for elusive tracks issued on that box-set but rarely (if ever) released elsewhere. Actually, if the OP wants to send me a pm, I might know of a s/h copy (not mine!) going at a reasonable price.

Sorry, I did mean 'The girls'! (it had been a long day!). I'll try and track down the various cds or the early years box set as I want these tracks to complete my collection, the only 1 missing will now be 'My Way' from Finders Keepers, and i'm not buying the whole Cliff album for 1 track! :D

The box set is currently available for £119 on Amazon if you're quick. OK, it's a lot of money, but the alternative is not having all those tracks!

Incidentally, My Way is also on the Early Years box set (last track on the last disc).
