Two Cliff & Shads celebration concerts with Past Masters

Postby dave robinson » 09 May 2013, 13:11

Anyone interested can catch us at The Acorn Theatre Worksop on Sunday 12th May or at The Trinity Theatre Gainsborough on Saturday 18th May - there are a few tickets up for grabs at each of them. To those of you who have already booked - see you there! ;)

Maybe next year Steve. Where exactly are you, as I'm looking for small theatres down there.

Hi Dave,
I won't be able to get to those concerts.....but how WONDERFUL to hear that you will be back playing / performing once again. I take this to mean that you are recovering health / strength after your recent gruelling course of treatment for your health problems. This all sounds very positive and encouraging. Every best wish to both yourself and Past Masters.

Bests....Rob :D

Thanks Rob, yes I am able to perform as I'm strong enough after the chemo, but it does take it out of you, i had no idea how much. It's such an inconvenient coincidence that I had booked a short series of theatre shows that turned out to clash with my treatment, but luckily, we managed to do the gigs OK. I now have to undergo radium treatment for seven weeks, but should recover after that, hopefully getting me back in time for our autumn theatre tour.

I have been speaking with Colin Pryce Jones of The Rapiers about our two bands doing some theatre stuff together as a double bill, some in the north and some down south, but at the moment we each have band members with health problems to sort out, so it's on the back burner for now.
Colin is up for it should the moment be right, how about you guys, is the support out there for such a venture ? Tell me here and we just might put it together. ;)

Thanks Rob, you're not the first to tell me that, i think both bands on the bill playing to our strengths would be a great show, I never felt that The Rapiers had the chance to shine as well as they could when I have seen them at Lakeside, I'd like to give them the opportunity to do just that. We could compliment them by doing what they don't, it would be a real rock & roll / sixties variety show - I'll keep you posted of any developments here. 8-)
