The controls at the front of the panel are :- input jack, volume(dry signal), echo volume, regen (swell/repeat), volume for heads 1 2 & 3, and motor speed.

The top six push buttons select playback heads and the lower six select which heads feed the signal back.

The two rocker switches are power on/off and motor on/off.

You would select playback heads 1, 2, 3, & 4 and select regen head 4.

Then using the '123 Level' control reduce the volume of the first three heads.

That's right Dave the ESE echo had a level control for the 1st three heads but in fact the first echo ever to use that idea was a Meazzi drum unit.

It was the key factor in achieving the galloping / cascading echoes heard in Wonderful Land, and other early Shads recordings.

So Eric took the idea on board from Meazzi, it was a good move.

And every tape echomatic / factotum conversion has it because Roger first used the idea from the drum Meazzi..

Nice Job Roger, I'll have to take a holiday in Devon so I can hear it!!

That looks a masterpiece Roger! If I'm down Plymuff way I'd love to give it a try; will you be taking it to any of the South West Shads Club do's? I'm doing a Shads spot at my ex-keyboard players wedding anniversary function in Exmouth in June.

I hope you're well- I miss our Goons inspired chats!!
