I have just enjoyed watching this (again) - on you-tube "Ray Hill plays seven come eleven" - and I think he deserves a wider audience for this, whether you know Ray or not, it's a great bit of playing, very well recorded. Rick
Great playing (check out also Spencer Scott of this parish), but that is NOTSeven Come Eleven.
Seven Come Eleven is a tune co-written by seminal jazz electric guitarist Charlie Christian. It's a 44-bar theme consisting of three 12-bar blues segments and an eight-bar bridge. No part of it revolves around a II-V Nashville-style cadence.
Hi. Same title but different tune, this was recorded by Tom Brumley of the The Buckaroos in 1967. Now out at last on Cd Sundazed sc 11115 and on Cd Tom Cattin Toms own cd . Rolene sells this cd of her late husband, had quite a chat with her over lunch the other year about life on the road with Buck Owens and The Buckaroos. Hope this might clear up the song title of what Reg is playing. Where are you Reg? Spence.
