That's the only video from Bruce playing a Gretsch I have seen.

This sequence is supposed to be taking place in Paris, but I rather think it was shot at the Elstree Studios in England ! ;)

Looking at Willie and hand Jive I thought at first they were miming, but if so they are miming to a recording for this show, but I now think the mic picking up the vocals is not the mic you see in the clip, Bruce and Hank are picked up to clearly and there seems to be no increase or decrease in volume as Cliff moves towards and away from it.

Lip sync is also bad but that could be the transfer to digital.

Any views?

The director's commentary (on the full-price DVD) makes it clear that all the Paris scenes (except for the genuine establishing shot of a London bus on the Champs Elysees) were filmed at Elstree.

None of the cast were in Paris. The scene where they look out of the bus's windows at the Paris crowds was all Champs Elstrees.

Certainly at 1.04, the moment Cliff turns away from the mic, he appears not to be 'singing' at all, although his voice is still audible.

Well spotted !
I have this video but I didn't remember it...
It's most probably the same Gretsch, there wasn't certainly a dozen around at this time. Could it have been Hank's one ?
Not sure Bruce ever owned one...
This video is supposed to be from december 1960.

Bruce and Hank each had a Gretsch.

Hank's was a 6122 Country Gentleman (1960 model with single cutaway, finished in walnut, which looks black in monochrome). Bruce's was a 1960 6120 Nashville model (sometimes referred to as the Chet Atkins Hollowbody). It was finished in the standard orange stain.

It's quite noticeable that Bruce isn't actually 'playing' or miming at all just at the end of Les Girls, as the rhythm guitar can clearly be heard on the soundtrack!
