It must be everyone's dream to come across something like this, although I doubt too many would have found their way to the UK.

Lloyd Loar, a great visionary and innovator for Gibson, also originated the concept of the Mastertone banjo, the 5-string version of which was to become the universal standard instrument of choice of bluegrass musicians, as did the F5 mandolin favoured by Bill Monroe.
