Philip, Ivo....come on you guys...give us a break!!! (LOL). Seriously though...Philip...the whole of "Shadow Music" is there both in stereo and mono (the mono LP has never before been reissued on CD ). Philip....everything else you mention is post -1966, which is why it isn't there! If this expanded edition sells well....then further projects may well be given the go ahead. All 6 CDs now have c. 78 mins of music - there isn't space to fit much else on there. Every single Drifters / Shadows officially UK released studio recording 1959 - 1966 is present and correct (in stereo wherever possible) + 30 or so tracks making their CD debut in mono.
Ivo..."Happy Birthday" and "Fiesta" were originally Cliff Richard / Shadows tracks. Anything involving Cliff would now (apparently) require additional clearance. This is a Shadows release only - so no involvement from Cliff. The instrumental b/t for "Happy Birthday" was originally going to be used on "The Shadows At Abbey Road". It was, as you correctly assert, removed at the express instruction of Hank Marvin. EMI are still honouring that. Hank's views haven't changed. EMI would need Hank's permission to include it & he would undoubtedly still turn it down. The stereo master for "Some Are Lonely" is still missing, presumed lost. As the AV stereo mix of "S A L" has only ever appeared on the aforementioned SFM CD in 1993 (now long - deleted) and an obscure French CD in 1999 (now itself long - deleted). Then the SFM CD will be used as the source - doubtless further sonically enhanced by the very latest available sound restoration technology. I can assure everyone that a lot of time, care and effort has been spent on this project - with long - term fans / collectors, quality control and value for money all very much in mind.
