Ok just do this, ask Justin Daish ( Shadowfix) if he knew Laskeside were planning a event when he planned his.......Maybe then it will shed a different light on this couple of events.....

I wasn't going to get involved in this thread, but now my name has been mentioned, I think I'd better make a couple of things clear, for the sake of clarity and professionalism, and to reassure those who have (or are considering purchasing) ShadowsFix tickets that nothing untoward has occurred.
I am confident that the information Derek refers to does not involve anything regarding ShadowsFix, which has been arranged purely for the enjoyment of the music.
I had heard rumours that Lakeside wished to organise their own event but by the time we had decided to finalise and announce ShadowsFix, nothing had been confirmed. As Tony said:

Well, the first one out of the traps was 'Shadowsfix', organised by fans for fans.
Then, through emails to some of their past customers, Lakeside's interest in hosting their own event became public knowledge. In a brief phone conversation with Lakeside (in which we decided we would continue our correspondence via email), I immediately emailed them with various suggestions to make sure that, if they arranged their own event, no competition would develop or could even be inferred, putting the emphasis on everyone working together to continue promoting the Shadows' music. I received no reply. The next thing I knew, Lakeside's event had been officially announced and I noted that it was to be held just two weeks after ShadowsFix. The two dates being so close has created a sense of competition that neither I, nor anyone else, wanted and almost guarantees that neither event can be as successful as they might have been standing on their own.
I do not wish to get into debate here as it would be unprofessional. In this instance, ShadowsFix is bigger and more important than my personal reputation (which is why I kept a low profile in the opening weeks after ShadowsFix was announced). Please take this message as a statement to clarify matters for, as I said, the sake of professionalism and for our customers' peace of mind.
By the way, if you haven't yet bought your tickets, the advertising is about to hit the local area, so if you'd like to attend, send an email to
boxoffice@shadowsfix.co.uk as soon as you can!
I'll leave the last word to our esteemed Mr Hoffman:
