I would hate for Shadowmusic to go the same way as another forum I post on, whereby the posts do not appear until a moderator has read and approved it. The problem here is that what one moderator would pass, another may not. This has resulted in a couple of my posts simply not appearing, despite the fact that they contained nothing defamatory or contentious. It seemed to me that the moderator in question had read them and thought "Nah, not very interesting." and simply not bothered. This, I feel, is a very unhelpful kind of censorship. Fortunately this seems unlikely to happen here.

My feelings are that we all try to keep the subject matter as close to the Shadows (music, group members etc...) as we can, without straying too far down personal roads. There are always going to be opinions ("Not keen on Hank's new album". "I think Shades of Rock is rubbish." "Love DeLuxe was the best single they ever released". etc...), but speculation and views of a very personal nature should be avoided. Also, slagging one another off from the safety of a computer is not clever. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of this forum for many years and hopefully shall continue to contribute and post irrelevant pictures of myself for many years to come..!!!

Practising for a gig, about three years ago. I do play sporadically. Well that's one word for it. Sorry the pic is so big, I suppose I should have tried to make it smaller before I posted. As it is you are stuck with a nice big view of the top of my bonce, until you scroll down!!! (Or not, as the case may be...)



P.S. I've just noticed... If you look closely, you'll see that I am wearing ear-plugs. Not because the music was bad (!!), but because it's a good idea to do so. Or is it just me...???

Always a good idea Chris, so many drummers suffer from Tinitus including BB so ear plugs are the order of the day.

Yeah.

Some people may well think it a bit 'sissy' to wear 'em but I have no desire to end up going deaf before my time. I am told that every time you hit the snare drum, your ear-drum(s) go into spasm. I don't know if it's true, but I can believe it. Add to this the persistent sound of the hi-hats (mainly in the left ear for most) and it can't be a good thing over time. As it is, I get a bit of a 'buzzing' in my left ear now when I hear things at a certain level or a certain frequency and I am sure this must be due to drumming damage! Thankfully I seem to have avoided tinnitus thus far.

Not playing again until next year, when the ear-plugs will be in. Well, for rehearsals anyway...
