FIESTA RED STRAT, ANYONE?

My good friend Des McNeill asked me to post this on his behalf. He claims to be IT-ignorant - the same way I tell my wife I can't do ironing

"My friend Gordon McAllister, a fine guitarist, who works in my local music shop, played with N. Ireland singer/songwriter “Bap” Kennedy in a couple of gigs on Mark Knopfler’s latest tour.

"The gigs were in Geneva and Neims. The giant strat pic is Geneva while the venue pics are Nimes. The Nimes venue is actually an old Colosseum as can be seen behind the seating. Both pics show Gordon."

Lovely.

I remember that Hank had a giant strat as the backdrop to one of his tours (I think the 2000 tour, as I remember seeing it in the Waterfront in Belfast) - not as big as that one though!

I was lucky enough to be at the soundcheck for that show, and I remember a tv crew coming to interview Hank on stage in front of that guitar. I presume it was one of the local tv stations in Northern Ireland - but I never did find out what it was filmed for (and I would love to know)!
