Reunion Tour DVD Sound

Postby wstagner » 18 Nov 2009, 16:52

My copy of the DVD visually has Bruce and Hank on the left/right respectively BUT the sound appears to be reversed.

I've checked all my connections. Anyone else notice this or is it my imagination?

Also, I realize there are 10,000 people at the O2 but I'd have prefered to have the applause lowered to at least the same level as the music. Am I (again) the only one?

I think I'm spoiled by the 2004 sound quality which I thought was superb.

There were 15000 at the 02.
Perhaps your speakers are wrong sided?
Most of us agree that the sound is 'spot on' - it certainly sounded the same at the live show in Sheffield Arena, in my opinion the DVD sounds 200% better than the 2004 offering. :|

I have noticed nothing wrong the the "Final Reunion" DVD sound. I have listened to it either in 2.0 with earphones or in 5.1 with my home-theater system, and in both cases the sound is excellent.
There was some problems on Hank's guitar sound on the 2004 "Final Tour" DVD (overload distorsion on some tunes).

No, it's not my system, it's just me.
Thanx for the comments.

Played as expected on my system (5.1) and the sound fully matched the positioning on the stage of The Shadows and Cliff.

I received my copy of the DVD last week and 5 numbers into the first play I confess I was a little disappointed that the sound seemed a bit flat. Then I noticed the play defaults to standard stereo. I went into the Setup menu (on the DVD) and switched it to 5.1 and it sprang to life - absolutely fabulous sound. I agree with other comments that it is better than the 2004 Final Tour which was definitely distorded on some numbers in the first set.

+++1 on the good sound...
Far better than the 2004 dvd first set!
The only "complaint" I can have...the extra stuff far to short  would have loved a extra dvd with nothing more than the extra backstage gems  .
But I'm of too C&A to buy a new anorak ;)
