Cliff and Shads b sides

Hello everyone

This may have been covered a lot of times before - but where can I find a guide to collecting all the Cliff B-sides that the Shads play on?

I have a listing of the songs - but on which releases would I find them?

I know there is the Rare B-Sides Album, and some of the B-sides are also album tracks, and some are on Rocking with Cliff etc, but I haven't found them all.

A guide as to which compilation albums to get them on would be very useful.

Even better - an As and Bs album that collects everything together from the 60s, similar to the Shads As and Bs collection.

There is the Cliff's 6CD box 'The Singles Collection' (EMI 7243 5375512). I think Leo's Den don't have it on stock anymore, but the set crops up regularly on eBay. You can see the tracks here: http://www.cliffrichardsongs.com/cliffandshads/ if you scroll down to 2002 you find the six CDs listed with all tracks.

Cliff's 50th anniversary, 8-CD box set had a lot of good material on it. Since its release in September 2008, some of the eight CDs have been re-released individually -- so you wouldn't have to buy the whole box set necessarily. What I always wondered about is the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles' statement (certainly in the older editions that I've owned) that the Shadows had five UK number one singles + 7 with Cliff Richard. It must be perfectly feasible / possible, if maybe not probable, that they played on the B side of at least one of Cliff's other 1960s chart toppers. In my slightly biased opinion that would/should increase their total.

The tracks in question would be 'Just another guy' (flip of 'The minute you're gone') 1965 and 'High and dry' 1968 (flip of Congratulations). The former is much more likely I guess.

But being a newbie, I guess you guys have already discussed that point somewhere along the line, if it were indeed the case.

The tracks "Just Another Guy" and "High 'N' Dry" didn't involve The Shadows. Cliff was probably backed on these by the Norrie Paramor Orchestra or Mike Leander or... Just Another Guy was recorded in Nashville in August 1964, and the musicians were American. Norrie Paramor provided the backing for High 'n' Dry.
