I went there to see them every night. It was their first outing as a duo and they had Pat Farrar on Keyboards. It was also Alan Jones' first appearance with the 'Organisation'. Talk of the Town drummer Bobby Worth made up the band. Hank was experimenting with a Fender amp, Pro Deluxe I think- it was the same as John's - and some Vox AC 30 amps. I spent one afternoon playing the white strat, as it was then, with Hank walking round the auditorium listening to the sounds from the different amps. He was using the echoplex then. The staff were in cleaning and Hank was shouting; "Stuart; can you play me a little bit of Apache. Now can you try it through the Fender.!!

On the final night I had a gig in Bingley and my Jennings amp packed in. I turned up half way through Hank and John's set and told them of my amp's demise. I had a gig at the Winter Gardens in Morecambe the following day and Hank said; "Take one of the AC 30's." I saw him often over the next decade but he never asked for it back!!

I have. It was one of the ones that were on an album cover when John Rostill was in the band. They were rehearsing in think for a TV show. It had the swivel legs attached to the side. It isn't totally original now though as in 1978 our van was run into by an off duty drunk policeman!! The amp survived ok but the cabinet didn't!! Neither did some drums! So it's all original except that it's in a later Vox Cabinet!

It's a pity the Marvin Farrar project didn't expand although we know it was only a short stop gap arrangement til Bruce's health issue was taken care of, then look what we got when it was resolved, taking into account Hanks solo tours and the final tours, 40 years of shear pleasure.
