FBI in the Sky in Gothenburg

Postby Kon-Tiki » 19 Nov 2009, 10:24

:D It was "another night", another terrific one, with Cliff and The Shads in Gothenburg Sweden last night.
The boys all in great form, especially Hank doing the Chuck Berry duckwalk and other gags and goggles.
Hank also surprised the audience starting to play "Ghost riders in the sky" at the FBI-intro.

Well, this is Swedish language, but the conclusion says:
As a matter of facts, it was The Shadows instrumental contribution that made this a great evening.

Bjorn,
A little while ago you mentioned that you hoped that (especially for Sweden) the Shadows might add "Kon - Tiki" to the set list. So......did they play "Kon - Tiki"? - or was the set - list unchanged.

Best wishes,

Rob

 Sorry to say Rob, there was no Kon-Tiki in Gothenburg last night.
The set was absolutely the the same - but with some new gags.........

But it was in Oslo Norway next Monday I hoped for Kon-Tiki,
'cause the Kon-Tiki raft and it's skipper Thor Heyerdahl was Norwegians.

Doh!! Quite right of course! Correct person - wrong country!!!! Sorry. Well - here's hoping. As Kon - Tiki only lasts for 2'00" - then it's possible that they might consider including it - either as an additional track or just to replace one other for that particular evening.

Best wishes,

Bjorn

He did the duck walk (absolutely hilarious) and also a little snippet of 'riders' at the start of FBI in Rotterdam. Brilliant!
It would be a really nice little touch if the guys did kon-tiki for you - here's hoping!

Yes, Kon Tiki would be nice. That is my absolute favorite Shadows song. The only problem is that in order to sound right it has to have a lot of echo. Hank's modern sound is rather dry, and even on this tour with the fabulous TVS3, he still uses very little echo, so I'm afraid it would take the "magic" out of a simple but haunting tune like Kon Tiki.

I'm sure that it will be a concert to remember in Forum, Copenhagen.
I'm anxious to see and hear, how different this concert will be from the first one I attended at The O2.
Only 2 days now.

The should play Kon Tiki on monday as an honour to Thor Heyerdahl and Oslo! Anyone remember the famous photo of The Shadows (with Jet & Tony) outside The Kon Tiki Museum from 1961?
Best regards

Hi Even,

yes, I remember this photo.
Hopefully you're lucky and the Shadows will play Kon Tiki when at Oslo.

Best regards Peter K
