Can anyone recommend a good set? Not sure if I want to spend over £200 on the Bose QC15's, but if someone who can from experience, suggest a set, I'd be grateful.

I use Beyer Dynamic DT 770 Pro and they certainly fit snugly over the ears, they are not in the light weight category, but general sound quality is excellent!
I bought some Sony noise cancelling headphones from Asda a couple of years back and very good they are too for £30. Apart from being great during flight, cancelling out the aircraft engine noise, I use them with my iPod & i pad as well as for recording on the Macbook. You can spend a lot more but these do the job.
I travel a lot with work - so I invested in the Bose QC3 and have never regretted it - they are fantastic. I've had several noise cancelling headphones over the years and quite simply these leave the rest behind in terms of music reproduction, comfort & noise cancelling ability. My 11 year old daughter used them in the summer when we were on holiday in France (the campsite was noisy until around midnight and she wanted to listen to some music quietly) - her view was OMG Dad - they are amazing.
Well, after much research and trials, I settled on the BOSE QC15's, which Bose describe as their best ever noise cancellation headphones. There are a lot of fakes about, so chose the seller carefully but with a bit of searching around, I managed to save £75 just because the retailer was wanting to clear some of his stock with Christmas approaching. Oh yes, they sound absolutely superb and I'm now looking forward to my 10 hour flight to Mexico next year.
