1977 pic???

Someone just sent me this pic of Hank. Could it be that it was taken in 1977 on the 20 Golden Dates tour? I say this because Alan Jones looks to me as he did during this tour (i.e. beard and long unpermed hair). A great pic.

The picture could not have been taken any earlier than 1977, because that was when Hank had the black Strat returned to 3 x single-coil operation which involved the replacement black scratchplate ("20 Golden Dates" tour).

I'm inclined to go with 1978, though (because of the jacket).

Yeah, I am fairly convinced it's 1977, due to Alan's appearance - his hair was very long in '77 but he had not yet had the perm. This certainly appears to be the case in this - admittedly not that clear - shot of him. I would LOVE to see more pics from this tour, as I have only ever seen ONE other, in an issue of New Gandy Dancer.
