John Cowan East Yorks Guitar member

It is with deep regret that I write to let all our members and those who belong to the Shadows community know that John Cowan passed away quite suddenly a couple of days ago.
John was a member of the East Yorkshire Guitar Club and also visited the York club. He was a true gentleman , polite , kind and always willing to share his ideas and thoughts with everyone. He enjoyed the music and company within the clubs and John and his wife Jan were always at the annual gala in Scarborough. John will be sadly missed.
The funeral will take place on Monday December 16th at the Scarborough Crematorium at 11.20 am should anyone wish to attend.
Our thoughts go to Jan and the rest of the family. We are so sorry.

Met John several times at the Gala and it is very sad to hear of his death. My thoughts are with his family.

It has come as a great shock as I regarded John as a younger member of the East Yorks club. I found John to be a lovely guy, quiet, thoughtful and caring. He had a love for the music and also tried to play his best. Pauline and I wish to express our condolences to his wife and family.

I'm so sorry to hear this terrible news. John was a real fan whose love for the music shone from the huge grin he always had when playing. I feel privileged to have played alongside him. Sincerest condolences to all his family.
