Just wondering - are there any pics from the 2I's back then including that wall part. Anyone know?

Thanks Bill - I did that obvious search myself before posting, but didn't see anything that seemed to include that wall part, hence the question hoping that others with more knowledge could shed some light on things.

In november a group of french fans came in England to attend the Surrey Shadowws Club meeting. We also had a short visit yo London, and went to Old Compton Street to see the famous plaque, but we couldn't find it. We now have the reason why !
I hope it will be put back !

Wow - I'm so glad I started this thread, it seems to have gained a lot of interest and got a result !

I contacted Westminster City Council myself yesterday and today they confirmed that the matter was being investigated.

Working in the West End, I have been in touch with Westminster City Council in the past and found them efficient and co-operative. As the official body, they are the best people to monitor the present circumstances.

Hi Didier,

It's great news that the plaque has been put back. Maybe Shadowmanics France will make a return visit to Old Compton Street later this year.

I well remember playing twice at the 2is during 1965 with The Foresters. Great memories, but sadly no photos.
