Quartermassters Store Double S

Hi ,, can anyone tell me why the title of this tune has 2 "SS" in it .

Spelling mistake or is there a specific reason for it .

Dave, it's not 'Quartermassters Store', it's 'Quatermasster's Stores'. One of those Shadows' spoof titles, inspired by the BBC's 'Quatermass' TV programmes.

Yes, great playing by Bruce, not to mention Jet's pulsating bass! I've often wondered if it was Mark Knopfler's inspiration for the sound on Dire Straits' Walk Of Life.

I wasn't sure it had anything to do with Quatermass era , I can just about remember it ( being so young ),

The Shads did some really funny and strange titles in those early days .
