Me too! I saw the TV serial and Hammer film. Scared me to death. The name 'hob' meaning the Devil really spooked me at the time...

Whilst the old '50's TV shows of the Quatermass series were frightening, they didn't scare me as much as a similar science fiction horror TV serial also broadcast at about that same time, called 'The Trollenberg Terror'- something to do with a terrible beast that attacked people in a Alpine ski lift funicular railway...
Back on topic, didn't the Shadows complain when their record was originally going to be released with Quatermasster's Stores as the A side, with Apache as the B side, because they thought Quatermassters Stores made them sound like Johnny and the Hurricanes (who had Red River Rock out back then with a similar melody and arrangement?
