Along the same lines, our band was the usual line up of 4 blokes, lead, rhythm, bass and drums................So some numpty came up and asked "Can you do Tina Turner or the Three Degrees?".
Some of them are beyond help!

This thread reminds me of the time at our local pub around the festive season when a chap was playing the bagpipes.
On finishing a number a lady approached him asked if he could please play Amazing Grace and with a look to kill he said
I just did.

Maurice.

One of my favourite Hank introductions has to be "We've received thousands of requests from one or two people..."

Closely followed by "We've been asked to play On The Bonny, Bonny Banks of Loch Lomond - but you won't hear us from there...."

No you were right, it's a well-known fact that Rembrandt was tone deaf, why d'you think he became a painter?

Well, yes, Rembrandt was indeed tone deaf - and it's a well know fact that he would often whistle, off-key, whilst he painted, much to the discomfort of his models...

Watch Hank's first spoken link on the Liverpool At Their Very Best video. He has some words that should be a comfort to all.

years ago our band arrived a club - the drummer went into the foyer to see where we unloaded - he said to the doorman - (broken nose and cauliflower ears) - "we're the band!" His reply - "You can't come in here if your banned!"

Another concert secretary asked if we were ready for our first spot - we lined up and waited for his introduction which went along the lines of "And for tonights entertainment Ladies and Gentle man we have" - a slight pause, then a look across at us and he said "who are you?"
