Not sure how they've worked out it's 60 years since Hank first picked up a Strat! Diamond Anniversary sounds great - but wn't be for another 5 years surely!

As far as I can see the ebayer pulled his listing.
Now another one is on there, currently at £32.99

It says that it's been 60 years since the man who introduced the Fender Stratocaster to England (i.e.Hank) picked up A musical instrument, not that he's been playing one.
Incidentally it IS 60 YEARS this year since the Strat went on general sale.

It says it's 60 years since Hank picked up a Fender Stratocaster whereas in fact it's 55 years. It might be the Strat's Diamond anniversary but it won't be "Hank and Strat's" Diamond Anniversary until 2019... ;)

Hi Clive,
Sorry to be pedantic, but no it doesn't.
It says "A (my capitals) musical instrument" (which might have been a banjo), not "THE musical instrument" I.e. the Strat.
I had to read it carefully cos I thought it was wrong at first. A clever bit of writers hack prose. Not.
Anyhoo - Diamond Anniversary for the Stratocaster at least.
Cheers

Here's the Quote - "It’s been 60 years since the man who introduced the Fender Stratocaster to the UK, picked up his first musical instrument."
It clearly says he introduced the Fender Stratocaster to the UK but then it says PICKED UP HIS FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT - nothing to do with the Strat - HIS FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT. That was a BANJO, IIRC.

He MIGHT have been the first UK Player to use a Strat but it wasn't an unknown guitar by any means - think BUDDY HOLLY.

Unlike Ian I've been to Specsavers and the label on the promo CD sold on ebay clearly reads: ... '60 years after he first picked up a Fender Stratocaster'

Once again confusion is creeping in. There are two ads in Ebay for the CD.

This one says 60 years since he first picked up a Fender Stratacaster, and is on the French EBay, and went for £101.99
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/321390550410

There is also one on EBAY UK which is currently at £30 +
