Hi Dave,

Good luck for tonights show, would loved to have been there but it's a bit too far to travel.

Please pass my good wishes to Jonesy and the rest of the lads.

Cheers,

Our drummer Pip Emmerson only joined the band recently and hadn't played Shadows stuff seriously until now. This is what he wrote on Facebook having completed the first show and almost playing Tony and Brian's parts to perfection.

Well, just have to say last night's Past Masters tribute to Cliff and The Shadows concert at the Trinity Arts Theatre in Gainsborough was amazing. Thought the band played fantastic, but with forty new songs and instrumentals to learn I'm not surprised one or two little mistakes crept in. Special mention has to go to Derek Brown who not only mastered the art of Bruce Welch on rhythm guitar, but also holding down a full time job as well. I bet his wife Linda has hardly seen him this past month with all the hard work he has put in practicing and perfecting his role. Also to Damien (or should I call him Hank Jr.) who did an absolutely brilliant job on all The Shad's instrumentals. Yes, I'm sure there are lot's of guitarists out there who say "Come on, it's only 'shadder's, anybody can play that". I'm sure they can, but the difficult part is getting all Hank's tones right, and emulating his style of play. Damien did it brilliantly. What can I say about ex Shadows bass player Alan Jones. Absolutely different class, and I had a ball playing along side him. His finesse and technical ability is world class, and I particularly enjoyed his performances on Nivram (two Bass guitar solo's were amazing) and Ghost Riders. Such a lovely guy as well, a proper musician. I also thought Jock did a terrific job of holding it all together up front, and with Anthony Lomas adding his incredible ability on keyboards, all I had to do was just play and enjoy myself, which I certainly did. Well done fellas, can't wait for the next concert at The Acorn Worksop.
