Yes the 79 Vox Tour,(Glasgow) 82 (Edinburgh) 83 Silver (Glasgow) remembered well, but cant
think for the life of me how I missed 1980/87/89/90 at my own locale venues.
Think 1990 ICW Glasgow was maybe the then new Royal Concert Hall?
George Geddes will know and perhaps put me right!!!

I too used to always read this as 'Vox' and certainly this is what it looks like on the front of the 1979 tour programme - added to the fact that a Vox AC30 is very prominent in the picture on the front. But having scrutinised it at length, I am pretty sure that what it actually says, in a very flowery and elegant way, is 'UK'. Anyone else like to comment?

As you say Vox Tour 79 and amps supplied by CBS Arbiter ltd and programme cover picture of an AC30 are the main mention.
They were at the time promoting String of Hits Album and tracks from it on the tour, not sure however if it took any European
dates or Overseas as well .
Anyone know?

The tour programme of the 1980 European tour has a Vox amp on the cover with 3 guitars leaning on it
Also drumsticks (not chicken wings!) and Hank's glasses in front of it

I assume that the European Tour (March/April 1980) was really a continuation of the previous years Vox Tour
as the same programme cover photo has been used.
George Ford is on Bass on a DVD of the Holland Concert of 2/4/80, I think, not Alan Jones ?

That's a lot of dates!! They also played the Rialto in Derry in October 1990 which isn't listed - I think immediately after the Belfast dates. Probably their most extensive Irish tour ever....

And the only time I think they ever played the NEC was with Cliff in 1984? Though the video which contained the Shadows set was reissued in 1989 or so I think - so maybe that's where you're getting the date from?

George Ford was indeed on bass during the European spring 1980 tour. Alan Jones was back again in the autumn.

The video "The Shadows Live" was first issued on the 12th of May, 1986 on VHS and Betamax video and indeed reissued on VHS video in 1989.
