Does he think that Marvin, Welch and Farrar - one of the most creative times in their career - would have been more widely accepted if they had kept the Shadows name and mixed vocals and instrumentals, as they did on Specs Appeal?

The only things I can think of are:

1) To what extent did the inclusion of John Farrar in the band cause you (Hank) to take stock of your own playing and to perhaps change the way you did things.

2) Do you now view the Shadows 'heavier' period (humbuckers etc...) as having been a natural development or perhaps an unwise move?

There are so many to ask! :)

For me a several stick out:

1 (a) As Hank has recorded a new album, is there a chance that The Shads may do one last album - maybe re-record their hits with some new original material thrown in?

or

1 (b) Would The Shads consider doing "An Audience With..." TV show, as the Bee Gees, Elton John and Rod Stewart have done?

2) Forgive me if this has already been asked but would Hank do what Bruce did and write an autobiography? I have read Bruce's and it was an interesting insight into how the music business works.

Cheers

Can you ask Hank if there is anyone he would have liked to collaborate with during his extensive career, Also....How he feels about digital recording techniques compared to analogue. regards Gary Allen

I have a couple of questions - so please take your pick...
1) I know you've done duets with Brian May, Duane Eddy and Mark Knopfler. Would you consider doing an album of guitar duets with guitarists you admire? I remember you telling Gerry Kelly on his chat show that you had never played with Eric Clapton - except that you had been in adjoining studios one time and had a jam. Can you remember that and would you like to record something with Eric (if he was interested)

2) I'd be interested to gain an insight into how you practise - or prepare / rehearse for a live show. I guess when you were preparing for a tour - be that solo, or with the Shads, or Cliff and Shads, that you only get say a week or so rehearsal with the band - so how much preparation do you do at home in Australia beforehand, and how? As I guess it is difficult to get motivated if you are practising by yourself?

3) are you sentimental about any of your guitars? Are there any that you just couldn't bear to part with?

With regard to the songs you have written or co-written, of which are you the proudest or most pleased?

What was The Shadows' greatest accomplishment?

How would you like The Shadows to be remembered in Music History?

Jet made a career from the Shadows music, but his preferred choice was Jazz, and sometimes cursed that he couldn't publicly play other types of music! What is, or would be, Hank's personal taste/style of playing today if he had a free choice?

Q1. What other instruments do you play, and how often do you play them? Q2. what are (if any) your other hobbies?
Thanks

Do you still own any of your old echo units? We know some went in with the rubble of the foundations when Dick Denney had extensive gardening work done at his house, but I'd love to think you still have at least one old Meazzi that we still hear on the records today. If you do have any, now that Phil Kelly has discovered a Model 1 Meazzi echo and the restoration of Alan Jackson's Model 2 is hopefully not far from completion, would you consider restoring yours to its/their former glory as a project for old time's sake?

Of all the Strats you have owned / used can you remember any that were more comfortable to play or had that extra something in the build that you preferred over others.
