Yes it was, and I certainly wouldn't describe it as crap, as someone posted earlier. I thought Imelda May and her band were excellent, as were the two individual male solo performers whose names I missed. Just because you might not like something it doesn't mean it is crap. Hank was obviously there to chat about his new album and to announce its release date, which is what he did.

May 27th was a very quick chat with a few twangs on his guitar - longer chat promised for the 30th. Hank in nicely humorous mood. I have to say those few twangs were better than nearly everything else in the programme apart from Imelda May.

Well, last night's show was hardly worth waiting up for. OK, Hank was there & had a 60 second chat with Jools. Not quite enough time for a legend. I guess we have to accept that it was only a quick soundbyte promoting the new album, & that's the way most TV shows work these days. It will be the same if he goes on breakfast TV or The ONE Show. If we want more depth, someone will have to do a proper documentry on his life & times. Let's hope he gets to perform on the Friday night version.
I think Jools does quite a good job in bringing mainly new talent to our eyes, whether it is to your particular taste or not. TV has needed a platform for new musical talent for a long time. I don't count those Saturday evening shows with a death panel making judgement on them. I suppose way back in the sixties we were privileged to have more than one talent show which gave many new artists/bands a good crack at showing their wares. ........ dear old Whispering Bob, hmmm.

I usually record it and skip through all the other stuff but watched it live last night so hit the mute button on the rest.
Was that his wife Carole sitting behind him? the one in red?

Yes it was, sitting next to his manager's wife and daughter who we had the pleasure of meeting at Albert Lee's birthday show.
