I agree Dave. His material was a bit suspect :)

But at least he didn't wear that same blue and white checked shirt he usually wears for interviews.

He wore a grey and white checked one instead - for the morning interview .... and the evening interview ... and the clip they showed back in Oz with Ben.

Yes Alan, the interviewer mentioned it too. ;)

I really enjoyed the two interviews on YouTube I've seen this week and agree with Bernard that it's great to see Hank looking so good and with a new album soon out.
We've heard the same questions many times before of course but I'd happily watch a video of Hank, Bruce and Brian reciting the alphabet just because I love to see and hear them.
Best wishes

I thought the jokes hank pulled did seem to be too much and were missed by presenters on both shows perhaps he is nervous speaking and has to joke to get through maybe. I must admit i did cringe at the Oscar pistorius joke but he seems to have got away with it and as said apart from small clips of the album we haven't heard him play

Just on a different topic - does anybody know if there is a Shadow Music club in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have just joined and would love to get involved in one.Chic Berkhout

Personally, I have always found Hank to be very natural and genuinely amusing on camera and in interviews. The 1981 Pebble Mill interview (with Jenny Hanley) is a good example of this. I gather that in the early 1970s there was some discussions with the BBC along the lines of Hank getting his own series. Not sure now whether this is a good or bad thing that it never happened. He has great timing and a way of delivering that is genuinely (or can be) very funny.

I do, however, agree that the interview under discussion was not his finest (half) hour.

I can't add anything to that really.
