It's not waste of time. I agree. But, wouldn't we all like
to hear him play in his wonderful way?
On his wonderful guitar...
5-6 times on briths tv without a single tune,
HBM, you should have played something. :x

Not a waste of time for exposure of the album, but It was a waste of MY TIME.
We were told that he would be playing - he didn't, so for me it was a waste of time listening to re-hashed questions about the original Strat and the obvious agenda to discredit Bruce.
My recollection of that story is that Cliff gave that guitar to Bruce back in the seventies, in appreciation of getting Cliff back into the mainstream when nobody was buying his records. Bruce ressurected Cliff's career big style and then was dumped again after he'd done the job. Why don't they tell that story?

Also, the crap about Cliff wanting to buy Hank a good guitar - if he bought it for Hank, then why did he want it back?
If I buy something for somebody it's theirs to own forever. They're an odd bunch and not like the folks I was brought up with. Doesn't anyone else see this ? :|

The best way to promote a cd is to surely play a tune from it, instead of talking about the same stuff again for 3-4 mins, would'nt it have been better to have played 'a taste of honey' which is a great track, it seemed to me it was all the same talk of the sound, the guitar, the wammy etc and oh btw thats my new cd, very poor promoting. How about 'an audience with Hank'? how good would that be on a saturday night instead of crap BGT.

Re the Burns Marvin on Friday night - did anyone notice it had a plain lower horn scratch plate , instead of the Burns logo.
I recently saw another Burns - not a Marvin -in a music shop, and this also had a plain scratch plate - Anyone know why?

After the build up to this week and watching and listening to all the hype I feel let down . I think Hank and his management should take a lot of the responsibility for this. It seems Hank does not want to give anything to his many fans and followers but is happy to promote the CD and take the money and make many hints about THE strat not being his.
I am in Spain and have not got hold of the latest edition off Guitarist. Let's hope for something more revealing and interesting

Well, it may have been my imagination, but I thought the interview was a bit longer and a bit better than the one on the half hour (live) edition. Jools seemed to be genuinely pleased to be talking to 'a legend' and it was nice to get Imelda May and her guitarist (husband?) to sit at his table and chat to him - apparently at their request. I also noticed the guitarist in The Wild Beasts playing the red/white Burns Marvin - again, not something you see every day. He MUST have done this as a nod to Hank and I'm sure that Mr Marvin noticed and appreciated it.

Not brilliant, but OK and I have no doubt that, short as it was, this appearance with generate some interest in the new album and maybe even in the Shadows...

I haven't watched it yet but this account of it plus the earlier interviews he has done this week strongly suggest to me that his management have circulated some "suggested questions" for the benefit of ignorant interviewers. Otherwise why would the same subjects come up every time, given the wealth of other material there is? If I'm right, I'm disappointed, not least in my own profession who should do their homework and come up with their own questions. Relying on a press release is lazy journalism, although temptingly easy when you're on that treadmill.
