Many thanks Heinz. It was four years ago today that Tony died following a tragic accident at his North London home. Tony either tripped or slipped and fell headlong down a flight of stairs sustaining serious head and neck injuries. He lay unconscious for several hours and by the time medical attention reached him - it was too late and he died later in hospital. The real tragedy was that his wife and family all happened to be out for the day. If someone else had been at home and paramedics / doctors had attended Tony almost immediately then he might still be with us today. Sadly - it was not to be. Jet Harris (not well himself at the moment) always pays tribute to Tony at his own shows. As he says - Tony left behind some great music to remember him by. Amen to that.

Thanks Heinz...

Sadly missed. Tony's funeral was the moment it came home to me that another of my naive dreams - to see the original Shadows play together again if only for one number - would never be realised. I took a little time out to talk to Tony's wife and she asked me to tell his two boys - there and then - why he was so important to people like us. So I did my best... it was a very emotional day...

David, I'm so glad you got a chance to talk to Tony's sons. How emotional for everyone there.
