Er ....... yaaaawn . Sorry if I'm offending anyone here. If you saw the final tour with him & the Shads, or bought the DVD, I would think that would be enough for any of us here. It was a great, professional performance by all of them, & a good way to bow out & retire. This will be a girlie , fan thing, I guess. Not for blokey, blokes like us. Duck ! ....... :o

Tony.

Good luck to him! He still has loads of fans and if the Shads do a concert when they reach that age I'm sure we would all be cheering! :D

I think my view on this falls right in the middle. I agree with parts of what everyone has said so far. Yes, if Sir Cliff has a big 75th birthday concert, it will probably be geared toward his female fans - which includes me. But as a Shads fan, when I watch his current concerts, I can't help but think how much better I'd like it if I could substitute some of the Shads for his current band. They are good (especially Keith Hayman) but just try to picture this same number with a few Shads substituted, particularly either Mark Griffiths or Alan Jones on bass. Or Jonesy on bass and Griff on lead guitar, if Hank wasn't available. And if you have Shadows walking going on, no need for those two guys in back of Cliff. :D

Kind regards,
Donna

As an outsider, I would find it extremely odd if Cliff didn't observe his 75th birthday in any way in public.

I can imagine it bring a bit like The Event in the 80s in the sense of it being more than a normal concert with a number of guests.

It makes sense to have the guests as I'm sure it works out better for Cliff to not be on stage constantly - on the Final Reunion and the Soulicious tours the Shads and other guests took some of the weight off him.

If anyone's going to come on to help Cliff celebrate, the Shads are the natural choice.

I'm sure that really would be the last reunion though.

All of them seem interested in one-offs enough to make it happen.

'Cliff and Shadows' are only a small part of his repertoire looking at recent years- so no Shadows, although you might get a cameo appearance, but you couldn't really imagine them reforming for this.

It would be nice but i'm not sure if the Shads would want to or are even physically capable any more, they're all over 70 now and Brian Bennett is 74, can't see them doing the FBI kick anymore! :D
