Cliff & The Shads Final European concert in KÖLN / Cologne

Hi all!

Just to let you know that last nights concert @ Cologne was BRILLIANT!
It was like they gave all they had with this being their last one untill they start their Aussie & South African Tour.
I was told that in the end 11000 tickets were sold so even though it wasn't completely sold out, it sure looked full to me...
The boys were great and were obviously enjoying every minute. Cliff's voice was great, although his voice did sound a little hush / rough at times. Still he surprised all of us singing a few really high notes that even Bruce hadn't expected! At one point he walked over to Cliff and gave him this look like he was saying "Wow where did that come from!"amazing!
One thing which was rare was the fact that Cliff sang Lucky Lips in English only... normaal he always sings the chorus in German

Well, it was a HaPpy day, but in a way also a sad day... am I ever going to get to see the boys perform again? I don't know, I certainly hope there is more to come but... if not, we've had more then we ever expected, first time I said goodbye to Hank was in 2002!!! ha ha

I hope they enjoy their Christmas vacation. They really deserve it. They have given us a show far beyond what we could have expected.
I saw them more than 30 years ago, and I dare to say, that the 2 shows I have attended this year, were the best I have ever seen.
Thank you for some shows, that will be an eternal memory.
If I should forget, I can always take the DVD and put it into the dvd-player

Yes @ngel it was great to see the boys again on "spitting distance"
Sadly it was (as far as we know now) the last time
The sound was great, Hank used the full potential of the TVS3...much more echo then on the DVD and even more as in Rotterdam a few weeks ago..
What a splendid acoustic has that arena...a great natural reverb...no wonder it's one of Bruce's favorite shed's in Germany to play in.
They were on fire....more improvisation from Hank....he had obviously a great time!
BTW your photo album is great,kind of JHH quality

Thanks for the compliment Rob, I'm more than pleased with the result as well... All thanks to the new gear ... Photo gear in this case of course!
The shows are over now... for us over here in Europe that is (unless I win the National Lottery), but atleast we have the DVD and lots of piccies!
