I have a custom shop Doublesix with tremolo, which I use a lot - had it for about 7 years.

No problem with tuning at all - great guitar.

All the best,

Nick

Somewhere I have a VHS tape of the 25th Anniversary Cliff and the Shads Reunion Concert recorded in Birmingham - starts with them arriving on a big red bus!! During this concert Hank certainly used the Burns Double 6 on two numbers including Don't Talk To Him, I forget the other.

I used to have a Burns Custom Shop Greenburst with the term unit as well as a matching Legend (Marvin). Both were great guitars bought direct from Barry back in '96/7. I gigged wither for a number of years but sold both on after I stopped gigging about eight years ago. The D6 was a superb guitar and never gave me any tuning problems. I used to use it on On The Beach and the Searchers Walk In The Room as well as a number of other songs. I regret selling it as it was light years better than the Chinese manufactured versions - I did have a couple of these as well, but didn't like them.

I still occasionally see your old Marvin at jam nights, Brian!

I remember Brian playing his greenburst guitars during the early days of the South Coast club at The Fountain. Fantastic sound and brilliant playing by Brian.

Gary, At the present rate of exchange the answer is probably YES, if you are after that model. As I said a few postings back I personally don't like these Chinese built versions and don't feel they compare well with the Custom Shop model I had but then that cost around £1750 back in '97 so £500 has to be a reasonable price for a mint example.
