Hi Mick absolutely loved the show in Maidstone. The audience were fabulous and I am sure if we kept going we would have covered our costs next time round. However this is the right time to end the band as there are no theatres booked for 2015. We have lots of people from Kent coming to Porhcawl. They are also coming from the North East and Cornwall. We talked to the venue today and they are amazed how far people are travelling for this concert. It is going to be a great night.

Hello Zoe

Our granddaughter Saffron is currently learning the piano, perhaps she'll change to the guitar after the concert.

It's a pity to see the band can't continue, But I'll keep the DVD !
I was there when you came in Boulogne-Billancourt (France) in 2006. Although you played only two numbers, I greatly enjoyed your performance.

On the 4th October I will be playing the Shadows meeting in Verden with some friends. It is going to be a brilliant weekend, our friends in Germany know how to put on a great Shadows event. Brian Locking will be there also and with a bit of luck we may get to play "Here I Stand" again. I hope to see lots of people from this forum turn up. Zoe

It seems only yesterday we saw Zoe at the first Shadowmania unfortunately instrumental music is no longer in vogue however skilful the artist. Please keep playing somehow it would be a shame to lose such artistry. Wishing all the girls the best for the future.

I'm out of the loop here. Does it really have to be a theatre situation now? I suppose it's comparatively a long time ago now, but there used to be plenty of places in the 90s say, to cater for and build up your audience (The Brook/ Joiners, etc.). Generally, places that appreciated the music on its own terms (even if that was occasionally just for the profit, in a few of those eyes). Either way, does that option not exist now?!! That might explain something, but would be a truly terrible turn of events.

Hi Paul When I developed a fear of flying in 2006 I gave up playing concerts and recording as the only place I had any real success was America and Japan. The The Crickettes got me back out playing again and meant a return to my roots playing Shadows Music. I have loved it and loved playing with the girls. The other 3 girls had however, never played instrumentals before the band was formed so what they achieved was amazing. For me the music of The Shadows, The Ventures and The Spotnicks is in my blood. I know them all personally and want to carry on playing their music. This week I put the backing tracks on in my home studio and played along with them and found that instrumentals I had not played for over 12 years I could still handle without a mistake. It was great fun so I will carry on as a solo artiste doing what I can to find an audience for instrumental guitar music, playing it the way I like to do it.
