Just got back from North Notts having had a lovely few hours catching up with some old friends and playing a few tunes on the drums. This is a great little club and Pete & the team do a great job. Especially nice to see long distance travellers Jimbo & Jan, Ecca & Mr Bakewell as well as Geoff Worrall. Forgive me if I missed anyone. Now that I'm getting better I can look forward to next time. 8-)

I enjoyed the music. There's some good players at North Notts.

Great to see you on the mend Dave, keep it up. I still haven't forgiven you
for your hair growing back so quick. you must give me some tips.

I have to echo Dave's comments on the way Pete and the gang organize
the proceedings. First class.

Cheers, Alan.

Yes and a jolly good afternoon we had too albeit with a rather over-echoey sound and a marathon walk to the car that took almost as long to park as did the journey up there.
Nice to see everybody there, Robbo's looking good.

My G3 that I allowed you to use, was programmed by Charlie Hall (EFTP) and the correct echoes were set for the tunes that you played. No-one else that has used the unit has complained. May I suggest that the answer to your problem would be to bring your own equipment in future,

Jim

I agree about bringing your own kit to avoid that situation, but Charlies echo patches were always over the top to my ears when compared with the real thing and was the reason I moved away from EFTP and worked it out for myself using the ESE Echomatic, later tranfserring it all to the Tonelab and later finding success with the Etap and Catalinbread. People always seem to overdo the echo volume anyway, which is possibly why Charlie set them up that way. A serious listen to the records works wonders. 8-)

Don't get your knickers in a twist Jimbo, it was you that asked me if I wanted to use your amp and not the other way round. I was happily on my way to use the MesaBoogie which I normally plug into on my rare visits to North Notts which is a brilliant amp .
I had ,in fact , a 1963 AC15 in the boot that I'd bought up but parked so far away that me and Bakey would have had a rupture before we got it there.

I've never known a noisy eTap. Everything about the design by Piet was exactly the opposite and the Fv1 module at the heart of it is virtual studio quality .
I've come across more than one eTap that had noisy power supplies though.

I've had both the original and the valve version of the etap and both of them have suffered from excessive background noise, whether caused by the power supply or not. Perhaps if the power supply is the issue they should be supplied with correct one
Anywhoo, back to the original thread, many thanks again Pete and Laura for all your hard work
