Charlie `Hall & Collins` New Echo Unit

Postby Derek Misselbrook » 29 Aug 2014, 14:34

Hi if like me you have been following the progress over the last few years of this echo machine I would say it's now very close before it's available , a load of people put their names down on Charlies Hall site http://charliehall.proboards.com/board/7 to show interest, but it seems now you have to register a definite interest in purchasing one, also I think I'm correct in saying it will be sold direct from the manufacture, so if you have your name down all ready, just go on the Charlie Hall site and confirm that you definitely want one .... :D
Hope this helps 8-)

Derek,
It would appear that since the first production run was hinted only to be of about a 100 units many of those interested have taken it upon themselves to make their previous enquiry a definate order in order to virtually guarantee a unit although I don't beleive that Charlie ever actually asked for this.
As I understand it Charlie's original thoughts were to notify everybody on the list at the same time and let them make their purchase as and when they wished.
In the light of recent postings over on Charlie's site events have somewhat changed things and I can imagine that the numbers of the first run might change if possible from the makers viewpoint, although I stress that this is my own personal opinion and not based on any facts or knowledge.
After all why would you not make extra units if a sale was almost guaranteed.
I think right now Charlie needs all the time he can get to finish the programming and not be answering loads of emails but as I know from my time in EFTP when you are a small business everything has to be covered as the customer is king. The good side is a better knowledge of the initial demand.
Good luck if you are in the "Gold Rush"

That 600 is not set in stone Dave...could be less or more.... depending more factors, which I haven't a clue of ;)
Peter is right Charlie didn't ask to put anybodies name down for a definitive purchase at any time...
It started when I revering to that 100 units mark, in a earlier reply to Charlie on that threat.
That 100 units number, was spoken of way back a few years, just as a starting point to make it plausible for a manufacturer to start production...not as a limited run.
Well there is time enough for members of several shad sites to sell the previous "flavour of the month" units, before this unit will set the standard on a more higher level then ever...and nobody wants to invest in the older units any-more..... ;)
Tin hat in place

There is a good chance the new unit will be out by Christmas, I have put my name down for two from the first batch. One for myself and one for one of my students. Personally, I can't wait it will make life so much easier for playing live. Zoe
