I watched 20 mins and turned off, the bloke with all the gizmo's/pedals/effects etc sounded like he was playing through a 6w selmer.

Too right Rob, all the wrong people, each one with a personality by-pass. That was the one thing they had in common. :|

I got the DVD when it came out and I suppose it wasn't all that clever- obviously the maker got a bit excited about it... The Page snippets were interesting simply because he tends to be a bit of a recluse and he was certainly an innovator and one of the very few I ever bothered to see live, the rest of the stuff was pretty mediocre as others have said. Jack White...well... all attitude for the modern day youth, kicking things about as if nothing apart from destruction and decrepitude is of any value.
A very interesting DVD is 'To Tulsa and Back' by JJ Cale- very well worth getting. JJ Cale- admired by and an influence to many musicians, but not famous or well known by the general public.

It's not really a documentary on the history of the electric guitar though, is it? If that's what you're expecting then you're bound to be disappointed. It's a discussion on guitars and guitar playing by 3 individuals, representing 3 different generations of famours guitarists.

It always struck me as an odd premise for a film, although I enjoyed the bits that I saw (with Jimmy Page's being the most interesting, for the reasons above). If you're not already a fan of Jimmy Page, The Edge or Jack White I'm not sure why you'd even bother to watch it.
