My new G&L style pickguard is almost ready to try, I just dropped off the pickups at AGC for Gareth to attach to the new circuit. Rather than having a toggle switch to bring in the extra pickup, I had a 'push push' control fitted on the Middle knob.I took him a set of Vintage Toneriders and I'm trying it out on my white MIJ Strat when I get it back tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to hearing those tone controls do their stuff on a Strat, I'll keep you all posted.

Just after I decided I would not buy any more guitars,
I started reading this thread I got tempted to buy another.
Its Dave or Rogers fault in tempting me to get a G&L Tribute S500.
At the moment is getting set up at the shop so I should get it by Wednesday next week.
Hoping its as good as you guys said.
I tried to get an American but its difficult over here in U/K.
Still its cheaper this way to try it out first.
Regards .

Yes I am sure you will be happy with the flexibility of this guitar and they are well priced.

What size strings do you have on it.
I have asked for D'addaro 11s.
II got the guitar with the maple neck and metal type controls knobs as I like to
use my little finger to control volume and I think its easier with the bigger control knobs

Same strings D'addaro XL115 . Have though about dropping back to a set of 10s with an 11 on top E but the 11s do fine. You can download the manual for setting up from G&L but the height of the Trem should be 3mm and level to body for info not 3/16th as stated in the old setup guide. G&L rep stated this 1/8th or 3mm is the current setting.

Thanks for the info,
I asked for a semi tone shift on the trem, but I can always alter it when I get it.
The shop I bought it from does a free check and setup so I will see what happens.
How many trem springs do they come with, Will the springs off a strat be able to fit if I need more.

My G&L S-500 is the Indonesian one and is the best Strat I've got - and I've got some good UAS Strats !
