Is that a keyboard I can hear during the (1st) 'middle eight' of Walk Don't Run ??

It doesn't sound like The Shadows to me at all ...............

Also I notice a Guild (?) guitar propped up on stage in the Walk Don't Run photo - what was that used for I wonder ?
Did Hank ever use this guitar on stage ?

Although, looking at the photo again, there seems to be other groups' equipment on stage as well so maybe it belongs to someone else ?

Hi Frank, From what I remember reading ,the guitar is a 1961 single cut Gretsch Country Gentleman, imported by Burns and sold to Hank for £200,He used it for Nivram and others, then sold it back to the same shop 10yrs later for £100. regards Gary

Hank had the 6122, Bruce had the 6120 as seen on "round and round" --Summer Holiday, The present/last known owner of Hanks gretsch had an article on the net not too long ago.His name is Doug Turner if anyone here knows him. Anyone tried the new 6122 ? I figured it would be worth paying the extra for an original one. not keen on the newer ones at all. Gary

Thank you for the music. I didn't know The Shadows had played Walk Don't Run in the sixties. :o Their Radio Luxembourg version has a better swing to it than the version they recorded in the 70s.

Gary, I have a number of late Gretsch guitars they are all made in Japan and the quality is far far better than the early US made models! I have a 6122 double cut with 25.5 scale, TV Jones Classic pickups, they are great guitars don't fall apart like the early ones.
