Oh... and they are roundwound.
I don't intend to use them on a Stratocaster. In due course, (not immediately), they will go onto my Gibson ES-175, replacing a D'Addario flatwound set installed about a year ago. I also ordered a set of "Roto Purples" which have the same gauge. They (the Rotos) might go onto a Strat...
I'll report back in the fullness of time.

am happy to say they are a great set of strings with a balanced tone across the strings certainly right for the Shadows tunes. Not sure if I prefer them over DR's though cannot make my mind up and in any case you need to make your own minds up as to whats right for yourselves .. but I do like these and they are priced well...

A few years back I was fortunate to have a few months 'internship' with one of the UK's most experienced repairer's & luthier's. He used to reckon DR stood for "Dire Rubbish" and would never, ever use them on any guitar!

I used to use a luthier here in Dublin (Derrick Nelson)and he said they were crap too, impossible to do the intonation with them, though I still prefer them over ernie ball (10-52s). regards Gary
