Jet was a Legend to me and was responsible for both my interest in The Shads and buying a bass guitar way back then.

Will be in UK for 5 weeks from 7th April but not sure if I will make it to Wolverhampton. If I don't see you there we'll definitely get together in Sydney.

Regards, Ian. ;)

For sure, Ian - Sydney April 2016!!!
As a Tribute to Jet, I shall be including "Theme For Something Really Important" in my Setlist for the Warwick meeting on Sunday. Jet always played that in such a brilliant fast, rock style - I love it.

"Do you like Duane Eddy?"
(Big 'Yes' from the audience)
"Well here's one of his. I dont know why - he never does any of mine!"

Great humour.
cheers

 Always enjoyed his little jibes about Cliff.
Especially when the heavenly lighting together with the "hallelujah" chorus came on and he rolled his eyes accordingly!

Another quip was when referred to the lead guitar player of his backing group: "He's good on the guitar, isn't he? Bastard!". Another one was one he made on his 60th birthday party. He talked about new guitar strings which were called "Gorilla Snot": "They are really called that. It's not a joke. The guy from the shop said all the young kids are buying these. So I bought myself a set".

And, at the time of the changes to state retirement age: "Does that mean I've got to keep playing this b****r till I'm 70?"
