The Five Chesternuts

Came across an EMI leaflet (dated 7.7.58) with a 'biography' of the Five Chesternuts including apart from the line-up a bit of information about the recording of their only single.

The agent was the late Leslie Conn, who later went on to promote the early career of David Bowie. I don't know anything about Johnny Johnson, but typical are the Bruce Welsh and Hank Hankin (corrected?) typos!

The same Syd Gillingham who later wrote the sleeve notes for one of the versions of the MfP "Walkin' With The Shadows" LP.

I think that The Five Chesternuts must have been the original Boy Band they were all very young at the time most other vocal groups at the time were much older. There are obvious spelling mistakes with Hank and Bruce`s surnames but they were unknown at the time they both changed their names I have often wondered what names they use in everyday life.

In everyday life, Hank and Bruce are known as Hank and Bruce. "Bruce" is Bruce's real name and Hank changed to that name over fifty years ago.
