Can I get Shadows sounds from a Fender American Special Stra

I am still looking for a strat that I would like to also use for other classic rock music.
Can I get Shadows sounds from a Fender American Special Stratocaster HSS?

Or should I ask which is the best strat for both early Shadows and classic rock?

It's possible to get a reasonable Shadows sound from a Gibson Les Paul, so a HSS-equipped Strat should do it with no real trouble.

And there WAS a time (think "Rockin' With Curly leads") when Hank was using a Strat with a Gibson humbucker in the bridge position...

Thanks Jim.
I do have a Lespaul custom with a Stetsbar vibrato, but I am still looking for a guitar that is also a little closer to early Shadows sound. My amp is a Fender Deluxe reverb and I do have a ac tone pedal (until now mostly for some grit) and a roland dd3 digital delay.

I think you can do it with anything!

As the years go by, I become more and more convinced that the tone's in YOU, not your guitar ...

The ACTone pedal acts as a preamp in its own right. Plugging it into a normal guitar amp will never give you as good a result as plugging it into a PA or Full Range Flat Response amp (or Power Amp). My ACTone runs into a Bose L1 compact and I get a tone that I defy anyone who has closed their their mind to the advances that have been made, generally, with solid state and, specifically, amp modelling, to find fault with.

I agree with Jim and Steve, above. You can get a decent Shads tone with just about anything with a bit of tweaking and, most important, the correct playing technique.

I have suitable gear to achieve a decent sound but to me, getting the right notes in the right order is the hardest part
