Whammy!

Yesterday morning i took my guitar/case down to my “man-cave” as per normal (guitar last played the previous night at my local club), ready for a session in the afternoon. Seconds after i took the guitar out of its tweed case, the trem. arm broke off, & fell to the floor! It has sheared between the thread & non threaded “gold” bar. Anyway have now stripped the guitar down & fitted the original arm for the time being, along with new strings etc.
Has anyone else ever experienced that?
And no i don’t have super strength hands!!

Did you manage to get the broken (threaded) stub of the arm out of the tremolo block?
