Yep, a very nice little package. Plenty of variety and exactly the quality you'd expect from all involved.
Without dialling up the Shadows-related sycophancy too high, The Appointment is by far the standout track of the album for me. While some might be sad that it's (likely to be) the last-ever recorded Shadows track, I think it's a fitting testament to the band that it stands apart on what's already an excellent album simply because it sounds like "The Shadows", and that goes far beyond That Sound or the presence of Messrs. Bennett, Welch or Marvin. Even on the sampler which Warren posted on Soundcloud a couple of days ago, I didn't know which was the Shadows' track but it was absolutely unmistakably them from the moment it came on. For me it was proof of why they stand head and shoulders above the other instrumental groups of the time, and how the whole was and remains even greater than the sum of its parts.
